Types of Safety precautions while working in an industry workshop with tools and machines. 

Definition- Precautions are taken to prevent general and other accidents occurring inside the workshop are called protective precautions.

 1) Self Safety

1. Shoes should be used while working in the workshop.

2. Do not wear loose clothes while working in the workshop, only a tight uniform should be there.

3. Watch, tie, chain, belt, id card, etc. should not be worn while working in the workshop.

4. Do not start the machine about which you are not aware.

5. Do not repair a moving machine.

6. If glasses, helmets, etc. are available inside the workshop, then they must be used.

7. While working in the workshop, one should not laugh and joke with any partner.

8. Do not enter under the running machine or running engine to work.

9. While working on the machine or engine, the sleeves of your shirt should be raised.


2) Tool safety

1. Before working in the workshop, there should be a thorough knowledge of all the tools.

2. Measuring tools or cutting tools should not be kept together.

3. The tools should be kept properly cleaned before and after using them.

4. Tools should not be used in grease and oil etc.

5. If a tool is not needed, it should be put on the tool bus.

6. Do not use tools without handles.

7. Bad tools should not be used.


3) Machine Safety

1. We should have complete knowledge about the machine we have to start.

2. We should clean the machines kept in the workshop daily so that it is safe and does not get damaged.

3. The machine which needs lubrication should take full care of its lubrication and the cooling should be taken care of in the machine which requires cooling.

4. The machine should not be operated without need.

5. Do not leave the machine running.

6. The machine from which the sound comes. Or if there is a nut bolt loose, then we should tighten it as required.

7. While working on the machine, it should be known whether the machine is working properly or not, and if it is not, then it should be repaired.

8. Danger hazards should be written on the machine as per the requirement.

9. The machines installed in the workshop should be equipped with a protective cover.


4) Electrical Safety

1. Insulated tape should be applied to the cut wiring.

2. If there is a loose connection in the wiring, then it should be tightened.

3. The main switch should be turned off while doing electrical work.

4. When working in the workshop, if necessary, other switches should also be turned off.

5. The battery should always be charged in the charging room itself.

6. The wire pointing near the moving parts of the machines should be properly clamped and tied so that the wire does not cut into the machine.

7. All electronic machines should be earthed so that no current shock is felt.


5) General Safety

1. Any material that has fallen down at the workplace should be removed.

2. Wooden blocks should be installed behind the tires of the vehicles kept in the workshop so that the vehicle does not slide back and forth.

3. Methods of first aid should be memorized by some mechanic.

4. If there is ever an accident, the patient should be assured in such a way that the patient does not panic.

5. The patient's injury should be traced. Where and what kind of injury did he get?

6. In case of bleeding, arrangements should be made to stop the blood.

7. Hot milk or tea etc. available to the accident patient should be given to him. Water or intoxicants should not be consumed.

8. If the patient needs, his clothes should be wet.

9. If a patient is in a burn condition, he should be covered with a blanket.

10. Unnecessary crowd should not be allowed to gather around the patient.

11. The patient should be taken from the accident site to a comfortable place.

12. Pressure should not be put in the place of the broken bone, nor should it be allowed to move.
